Serenity Farm Horse Rescue is nestled in the heart of Woodbury, Connecticut, on a peaceful property owned by the Schumacher family.
Founder Marie Schumacher works closely with each rescue horse every day, thoughtfully overseeing their individual needs and ensuring they receive the medical care, rehabilitation, training, and support needed to reach their goals and find the right forever home.
SFHR is supported by a dedicated team of talented board members, knowledgeable advisors, generous volunteers, and Marie’s amazing family—all working together to give these horses the care, compassion, and second chance they deserve.

Serenity Farm Horse Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) charitable organization since 2019.

MISSION
Our mission is to rehabilitate and rehome horses in crisis. To give them protection and care during their time of transition — helping to heal in body and mind. To allow the time to build trust and overcome their adversities.
We are dedicated not only to finding forever homes for these majestic animals, but also to educate and bring awareness to neglect and abuse within the equine community.

We're always looking for an extra hand.
Whether you can give through time or treasure, we are grateful for any kind of donation to keep the farm and non-profit running smoothly. Many of our rescue horses rely on special supplements and medications to regain their health and help them along their rehabilitation journey.
Horses, especially those that were once neglected or abused, often have many underlying issues and emergency care can be considerably expensive. But even the routine items and supplies needed to operate a farm can add up! We appreciate any consideration for donations.
